Laura Lee

Laura is a professional dancer with Savannah Ballet Theatre and has also performed with Continental Ballet Company, Saint Paul City Ballet and Ballet Minnesota. She has danced soloist roles in many classic ballets including Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, Les Sylphides, and the Nutcracker. She trained under the direction of Tatiana Berenova, a former Bolshoi Belarus Principal dancer, and also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from the University of Minnesota.

Laura received full scholarships to Joffrey Ballet School summer programs and most recently completed Open World Dance Foundation’s Vaganova technique summer intensive in Saint Petersburg, Russia. While in college, she was awarded an Undergraduate Research Opportunities Grant for choreography in conjunction with an internship with Shapiro and Smith Dance Company. The Metropolitan Regional Arts Council also presented her with a grant for the production of L’Affaire de Ballet by Cities Classical Dance Ensemble. Laura’s work of original choreography, I Find No Peace, was performed in CCDE’s debut performance and was reviewed as, “simply, one of the most beautiful pieces of choreography I have ever seen – it deserves a long and celebrated life.”* – Ross Edwards. Laura has been teaching ballet, modern, and yoga for over a decade.

She strives to inspire and challenge students to uphold the art of classical ballet through clear instruction and by creating an open and positive classroom environment.
